Disconnected systems

Your tools should pass details to each other, not through you.

When the same name, date or amount gets typed into your booking system, your spreadsheet and your invoices, I connect them so it's typed once and lands everywhere it's needed.

Usually with the tools you already have. If two of them can't be connected, I'll tell you before you pay for anything.

Sound familiar?

Today

  • The same details are typed into two or three programs.
  • Typos creep in, and nobody is sure which copy is right.
  • Someone has to remember to update the other program.

After

  • Details are typed once and appear wherever they're needed.
  • One program holds the original; the others follow it.
  • If a transfer fails, you're told, and nothing goes missing quietly.

How I'd go about it

  1. Map where the details go

On the free call you show me which programs you use and what gets copied between them.

  2. Pick the simplest connection

Sometimes it's a setting you haven't switched on yet. Sometimes it's a connection I build between two programs. The plan gives you the options and a fixed price.

  3. Build it and test it on real cases

Including the awkward ones: a name spelled two ways, a booking that moves, a client who is already on file.

  4. Hand it over

It's yours, and I show you and your team how it works.

Questions about this

Which programs can you connect?

Most booking, calendar, spreadsheet, email, invoicing and accounting tools can share information in some way. I check yours on the call. If one can't be connected, I'll say so and explain the options.

Do I have to switch to new software?

Usually not. The point is to make the tools you already have work together.

What if one of the programs changes?

Programs do change, and a connection may then need an update. I build it so a failure is reported right away rather than lost, and we agree up front how updates are handled.

Tell me which tools you copy between

You leave with a one-page plan: 3 jobs you can stop doing, a fixed price for each. Yours to keep.
